Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Around and About
Can you assist with flights or ferries?
Yes, we are able to book flights and ferries from the UK through an ATOL and ABTA bonded travel agent.
Do you offer a shuttle service / airport transfers?
No, however, our reception team will be pleased to book a taxi on your behalf. We recommend that bookings are made well in advance, especially when required early in the morning or when travelling to and from St. Peter Port in the evening. Many independent taxi firms operate in Guernsey, the largest of which is Island Taxis, who can be contacted 24 hours a day on +44 (0)1481 700500.
How can I get from the airport to Cobo Bay Hotel?
A taxi should take approximately 15 minutes and cost around £15 - £20. If you would like us to arrange a transfer from the airport on your behalf then please contact our reception team with your flight details.
Alternatively, it is possible to catch a bus (route 91) to Cobo, which travels around the coast, stopping roughly 150m away from the hotel. This service runs once an hour during the day and will take approximately 30 minutes, costing just £1.60 per person.
How can I get from the harbour to Cobo Bay Hotel?
The quickest and simplest way of reaching Cobo Bay Hotel is by taxi, which should take no longer than 15 minutes and will cost around £15. Alternatively, you can walk around 500m and catch a bus (route 41 or 42) to Cobo, which will stop around 150m away from the hotel. These services run up to four times an hour and will take up to 30 minutes, costing just £1.60 per person.
Should you arrive with your own car on the ferry or hire one upon arrival then click here for directions on Google Maps
Is public transport available near Cobo Bay Hotel?
There is a regular bus service to St. Peter Port available from Cobo throughout the day, including scenic routes along the coastline and through the countryside, passing by the airport. Ticket prices are very reasonable and should you need to catch more than one bus to reach your destination, your ticket can be exchanged for a "transfer ticket", whilst discounted multi-journey tickets can be purchased from the main bus terminus in St. Peter Port.
Although Guernsey's bus service is extensive and affordable, it does not operate after 21.00 on weekdays and we therefore recommend that guests wishing to explore more of the island or go out in the evenings hire a car to provide a greater level of flexibility.
Our reception team will be pleased to provide you with route maps, timetables and directions to the nearest bus stop, or alternatively, visit: www.buses.gg
